Angry and venting
I subscribed to the Seattle Times. They called me last wk and asked if they could put the current charge on the credit card they had on file. I told them "no you can't and please cancel my subscription." He asked again if he could use my credit card and I repeated myself, "no, you can't, cancel my subscription".

So today I find no money in the bank because guess what he did? Ran my card and continued my subscription. As I discovered this after they closed for the day, I get to fume here.
I'll probably get it cleared up tomorrow but they are just damn lucky I didn't need to buy gas to get home with or have other checks out resulting in overdraft fees, damn lucky I had $2 more than what they took out.

What crappy customer service. Thanks for letting me rant. grrrrr

1. I've had the Seattle Times show up on my caller ID
a few time this past week and have just ignored them. Hope you get this straightened out with no hassles.

2. Thanks. I've heard they can be bears about stopping subscriptions
but having them charge me when I told them no is just too much.

3. i make it a policy that i never do business with a company that calls me. mail or
nothing at all. with some things, I tell them that I am broke and have no money. Maybe you should cancel that credit card and get another, if need be.

4. I do business through the mail also.
When they called and I said "no", and then they went ahead, argh. So they tell me they have refunded me the money, but it will take a couple days to get through the system and back to me.

"Your refund has been processed effective 5/5 with your paper service
stopped for 5/6. All refunds take 3-5 business days to process from our
system to your bank, this is due to intermediaries that slow down the
process. We apologize for the delay, there is little we can do to speed
up this process. "

So they can use my credit card unauthorized, yet don't get it back to me for 3-5 business days.

grrrrrrr.
