As most readers are aware, the Cannabis Defense Coalition has for the
last six months been searching for a new home. The old county line
building is being demolished as part of the south park bridge
"replacement" project. We are in the way of that, and the county is
anxious for us to leave. As of today, the location search is over --
we have secured a new space. Our new location is in the Sodo
neighborhood, at 1714 1st Ave S, just two blocks south of the
stadiums. Close to downtown, close to I-5, I-90, SR-99, the sounder
and amtrack trains, bus routes, etc., we're pretty much in the thick
of it.

Not sure how to aptly put it, but we have arrived. It is
laugh-out-loud amazing, and should change the face of Seattle a little
bit. That is, of course, once we clean out all the bird shit and the
nesting birds, safely remove the vinyl asbestos tile, build the sucker
out, and slap a sign on it.

We are moving starting this weekend -- Saturday around 9 a.m. we'll
have a truck down at the CRC in South Park. We'll be storing almost
all of it in an unused portion of our new building, while we clean and
build out. If you can help move or clean, come on down. Our holding
pattern is over and we now need bodies. We'll especially need
volunteers with construction and contracting skills -- wood, electric,
plumbing, design, permitting, etc. General "get 'er done" people, good
broom handlers, and obsessive-compulsive cleaners are also great
assets for us right now.

We have our monthly session this Monday night, but not at the Cannabis
Resource Center. The county definitely does not want us meeting there.
And our new place isn't suitable for a meeting just yet. Dunshee House
has graciously allowed us to move our July meeting to their space. Our
new location will dominate the agenda.

* What: Cannabis Defense Coalition July session
* When: Monday, July 5 from 7-9 p.m.
* Where: Dunshee House, 303 17th Ave E on Capitol Hill
