My name is Anne Martens, and I am the Communications Director for the Washington State Democrats. I want to tell you about how you can play a big part in our communications effort and help us win this year.

This election year is crucial if we are to keep making progress - toward restoring jobs and growing our economy, toward quality, affordable health care for all, toward stronger environmental regulations to preserve our natural resources, and toward real consumer protections that rein in Wall Street excess.

We are putting together a Rapid Response Media Team to help track Republicans and respond with our message. The goal of the Rapid Response Media Team is to make sure that no Republican propaganda goes unchallenged.

We will ask volunteers on the Rapid Response Media Team to do tasks like these on short notice:

Email letters to the editor
Comment on online news stories and blog posts
Post media stories and responses on your Twitter and Facebook accounts
Call in to talk radio shows
Let us know about positive or negative media stories
Look for and let us know about any Republican candidate speaking events

We can help with talking points, but we need your help getting the message out. Please forward this message to your trusted friends and volunteers.
