Father set fire that killed self, 5 children at Vancouver home

Vancouver police said Wednesday a father set fire to his home that killed five of his six children and himself on Easter Sunday.

The 15304 NE 13th Circle home was ablaze when fire crews responded early Sunday morning, and initially two bodies were found, then later four more were discovered.

Police believe Tuan Dao, 37, used liquid fuels to ignite an explosion the killed five of his children: Nolan Dao (12-years-old), Noah Dao (9), Jacob Dao (9), Samatha Dao (8) and Nathan Dao (6).

Kim Kapp, a Vancouver police spokeswoman, said official identification process is pending confirmation using dental records and DNA comparison. Kapp said the surviving immediate family is assisting with the identification process.
