Blue Angels, symbols of war, practicing now in downtown Seattle
We were told they were starting TOMORROW. I did call the mayor's office to complain and they were actually sympathetic, but it's pissing me off. I closed my curtains, but I can still hear their thunderous sound. I can't bear it.

2. It,s also part of the summer time fun
Edited on Thu Aug-03-06 03:03 PM by Wash. state Desk Jet
And people come from far away to enjoy it. Oregon, Idaho, Montana for example.

You do know how north westerners just love to mix and mingle.
And even moreso after a long rainy winter.

And talk about how Sea Fair compares from one year to the next.

Winters are dull enough , imagine if summers were hot and dull too.

Indeed.

There is only one Hoodeanini. Magic MaGavic is a phoney. His tricks are nothing more than lies. And his lies are nothing more than tricks.
If the truth is out there, they want it to be further out there. Or what it looks like is what counts, not what it really is. Those who project a false image are in truth less than is projected. To Magic Magavic, Think not what you really are. But how you prefer to be referred to as. Or what it looks like is what counts. Not what it really is. Say 79 go poof.

7. I'm With You flamingyouth
This year, especially. i am so opposed to anything remotely to do with the military. Imagine how many new high schools or college scholarships we could have awarded with the cost of the fuel it took to show off our "great" military prowess??? :puke:

6. No hotter that most!
I rather enjoy seeing people out and about. Believe it, am a old cross country bicyclest. You know Portland, California, Canada, Was of the first to make the run across I5 back in the eightys when it became a legal bicycle route. What you might call a rough rider. Blood -guts - back pack and miles on end.

Just love to see people out and about.

The rain never did bother me much, but some people tend to stan in a lot when it rains.

Sea Fair brings them out.
So it,s a good thing- Blue Angles too.

10. LOL!
Kidding aside, what you said reminds me of a book I read some time ago, about a futuristic world (our world). The militaries of the world no longer fought each other, because there was global peace. But the militarie were still active, to take care of disasters (like the National Guard did before Bush got hold of them), and they would do "war games" with fake weapons, etc. I thought it was a pretty cool idea, because face it, lots of people DO like powerful machines, whatever they are. So to have "war games" like in this book is a much better thing to do than conducting real wars.

9. I consider them symbols of our ability to hopefully remain secure. The
fact that they are misused is a problem of policy.

11. I remember
When I was attached to a nucular submarine under construction at General Dynamics electric boat divison in Groton conn.

The pure injoyment of not only looking at the construction prints but also talking to disign engineers and looking at master prints, at the same time being involved in the process of construction.

Millions and millions of tax dollars in equipment seemingly flying in multiple directions ,and on it,s way to installation.

All for your secure comfort.
Is that screw driver really two hundred bucks a pop?

What ever is accountability or builking?

Power on the hand is a different thing altogather.

You could buy enough planes to to keep the Air force Generals smiling for years to come for the price tag on one of those submarines!

12. I wouldn't mind if they wouldn't practice so early in the day when I'm
trying to sleep! Nervewracking. And it scares my cat.

14. love the blue angels
I look forward to it every summer and had relatives from the east coast up last year to witness it. It is sheer power and really shakes my bones. I have to find positives in everything I can, if I naysay everything life would be depressing.

15. Something for everyone
And you must take the good with the bad as you see it. L.A in California has it,s Rose parade and the festivities carry on for weeks.

New York has the Thanksgiving-Christmans parades which brings them out.

Chicago has it,s big ones too.

And Sea Fair is our,s ,everybodys , something for everybody all summer long!

Down Town, Where All The Lights Are Bright.
Remember that song?
