What's going to happen to Randi on 1090? They said today that
the afternoon lineup is changing. Rachel is going to be on where Franken is now, and Franken moving to where Randi is now. Does this mean that Randi gets pushed to Late night? Or has AAR fired her too?

This really pisses me off. Getting Franken from 3-7 was bad enough. Snooze...he's too mello for the afternoon drive.
Worse though, by the time you hear what he's talking about it's OLD NEWS....it'll only be older four hours later.

So, anybody know what's up?

1. We may be hearing her live
which would be 12 noon to 3 PM. I remember her show was being cut to 3 hours. It is now 4 hours.

3. 1090 getting rid of Right-Leaning Big Ed? That'd would be news! And
Randi live would rock!

2. Hopefully getting rid of Franken... That really screwed my drive home
When Randi was on during afternoon drive, I listened religiously. Now, I'm constantly searching for better conversation... I even turn to 1150 Alternative Talk - complete with a pet psychic - do avoid Franken's show!

4. Switching Randi and Al would be a great move
He's already six hours old at 3:00, then Randi's six hours old at 6:00. If she was at 3:00, she'd only be on three hours late, and since Al's show is so scripted, what does it matter what time they play him? I would far prefer that.

There are not going to get rid of Ed Schulz, I'm sure, since he is beating Limbaugh in this market.

And, they have a great live morning West Coast lineup, with Stephanie Miller and Thom Hartmann. Moving Al and Randi is the most logical programming move they could make. They almost have too MANY shows to pick from - we need a second liberal station!

5. We love Randi!!! Bring Back Mike Malloy!!!!
Ed and Al are "safe" because they are not exactly "inflammatory", so they wont get rid o them. Ed wastes valuable time again and again talking about how great his life is instead of pillaring the Bush administration for the pack of liars that they are, and he doesn't accuse the MSM of being complicit in the hijacking of this country like Thom Hartmann and Randi continue to do every day of the week. I think that is part of the reason they got rid of Malloy.
I sure wish they would bring back Mike Malloy, God we if the rest of the press was like Mike Malloy, and put the repukes to the fire like Randi does, good Lord Jesus maybe we would be in a better position. Ed is such a windbag, got he wastes time every day I listen to him and acts as such an apologist, GGGRRRRRR!!!

7. Randi will be on from 8 PM-11 PM.
Yep, an 8-hour delay! Rachel will be live from 3 PM–5 PM, and Franken from 5 PM–8 PM.

8. Rachel starts live in a few minutes! Yay!
I wish they would put Franken on later (or just stop carrying his show). He's so delayed anyway.

They aren't going to get rid of Ed Schultz. He's beating Limbaugh in the time slot, and a lot of the people who call in from Seattle when he's on are men.

They can only carry so much live. I am actually thrilled that Rachel is going to be on when I'm up. I love her show.

It would be great if they would go from Rachel to Randi, then let Al Franken's scripted show run at 9:00.

9. Randi comes on too late
Franken and Shultz are my least favorite. Franken is too slow going, too many ummms, aahhs. He takes too long to set up his own jokes, many of which are not funny or inspired. Shultz is too right for me. Today I heard him backing Bush on Iran, assuming Iran has the capability to make a nuclear bomb.

10. Rachels only on 2 hours??? What a rip. Cut Ed.
God, Rachel is so much smarter than Ed, and way more entertaining. What a rip.

11. I've found Ron Reagan's KIRO show a suitable replacement for Ed Schultz
Ed's show is really the only 1090 programming that I can't tolerate.

12. I think Ed Schultz is 1090's bread and butter
I like how much live programming they are doing. They can't carry every show live, and I think they are doing a pretty good job (though I still think they should switch Randi and Al). Although I disagree with Ed on some points (yes, he's too right for me) I still like listening to his callers; they are people I think progressives need to be in touch with.

And it's a huge treat to hear Rachel every day at 3:00. She was on so early before I never heard her unless she was filling in for someone.

14. I actually prefer Al's show to Randi's as well
Even though Randi is closer to me politically.

Franken does a good show, and his guests can't be topped.
