Let the great wailing and gnashing of teeth begin!(sweet music)
I'm hearing some bible/chest thumping NGs from the Air Guard unit who supported Bush in all his sorry crap, cry like little tiny babies today! "That Dammed Bush is TAKIN' MY PUD JOB AWAY, after I kissed his ass so many many times when he landed in Charleston!" "I Even Voted For That BASTID twice, and now he's gonna' close down the Air Guard base in Charleston and shit-can my lazy, blood-sucking, military, OD green ass!"

Ohhhhhhh...it's so sweet to hear them WHINE and Blather! Just a week ago the local lifers all LOVED Bush and he could do no wrong, now the NGs can't believe that the "Chief" is shafting them and taking away HUNDREDS of jobs, with the stroke of a pen! It's funny to watch how badly some of these ASS KISSERS are taking the sad news! Now maybe those Bush Lovers will understand what it feels like to have their little greedy worlds blown to hell and torn to shreds, by "JUST POLITICS"! Now the local GOPer faithful are seeing how "JUST" this gang of Greedy Right Wing Politicians that they've so faithfully, so lovingly voted for and sucked up to, REALLY ARE! Bush would probably call these GOPer weepers and wailers "UNPATRIOTIC" now, because of the way they're talking about him since they got the "BAD NEWS!"

Do I feel sorry for them? Did they feel sorry for us back in November? So...HELL NO I DON'T feel sorry for them! The Bush Lovers need to "just move on", because poverty is ,"JUST POLITICS! Hungry kids are, "JUST POLITICS!" All those unpaid bills and the REPO Man are, JUST POLITICS!" Now that the shoe is on the other foot, the Justice of, "Just Politics" will finally trickle down to the bastards who so richly deserve, what they are about to receive!!!!

2. Damn right! They can still say "under God" in the pledge.
What else do they need anyway? (Oh yes, their children can still pray in school. Which they have always been able to do.)

3. Dogday, your simple post is a blockbuster. Why?
Because it points out succinctly how Bush screws the people who voted him into office and this kind of thing will get noticed by them. Values are nice to talk about but, not having food on the table is a much higher priority for anyone.

4. They aren't very happy campers!
And you should hear the lame explanations and excuses coming from our local GOPer politicians! All the local GOPers were bad-mouthing Bob Byrd, but now they are looking to him for some help! I hope he spits in their faces, but he won't because he's a good man!

I just heard them say on TV that as many as 1,800 jobs might go down the tubes if this base closes. I'd feel sorry for them, if I hadn't seen them on TV so many times cheering Bush on, when he landed on their field! He made a speech at the NG base EVERY time he came here and the guys there ate it up! I knew that if Bush was reselected he'd shaft and draft all his old pals! What does he have to lose now?

6. The chickens have come home to roost
and now, when the consequence of their own actions is their own, perhaps they will see things in a slightly different light.

Nominated and suggest you post this in GD-P. It's these kind of stories that we need to hear now.

8. I'm hearing this story from the horse's mouth!
One of these guys that's losing his job called me today crying the blues! I should have told him that Sympathy was in the dictionary between $h?T and Syphilis! But I just listened to his rant and chuckled a little bit! This guy was also one of the hard core GOPer church goers here, who talked it up for Bush at church and everywhere else he went!

The preacher at that same guy's church was telling people at church to vote for Bush, or the Devil would get them! The preacher even went out and put up Bush signs in people's yards while they were away from home! They did that to one friend of mine who is and has been, fighting with lung cancer and has been real sick for several months! They knew that my friend was a democrat, because he goes to church up there! They knew he was sick too! My friend is still very upset and ranting about them doing that to him! He quit going to that church during the campaign. He'd attended that same church for years and was the preacher there before he got sick.

The deal with the preacher in North Carolina in no isolated incident IMO! Bush and the GOPer faithful were running fund raisers at one of the biggest, richest churches in this area, BTW!(Bible Center Church) Bush was even supposed to show up at that very church on a Sunday that he was here campaigning last summer and he was delayed because an engine blew up on AF1 and he was late getting here because he had to use another plane.

9. Republipuke Radio
I sometimes listen To the Jerry Waters radio show, which is yet another right wing propaganda tool that broadcasts from Charleston. It's on AM 950 from 10 AM to noon on week days. They have a live chat room that you can get to from http://www.mywvhome.com/

They're saying if Senator Byrd doesn't save the ANG base, he should be removed from office - and replaced with Capito! I kid you not, these boneheads really think this way. It sure is fun, tripping them up with the FACTS, either in the chat room or by calling in on 304-344-9704.

1990
Former Governor Arch Moore pleads guilty to federal charges of extortion, mail fraud, tax fraud, and obstruction of justice. He is sentenced to almost six years in prison.

April 13, 1990: Indictment of former governor Arch Moore

Moundsville native Arch Moore made his first foray into state politics in 1952, when he was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates. A decorated World War II combat veteran and a graduate of West Virginia University's Law School, Moore also served 14 years in Congress before being elected the state's governor in 1968. During his first term, he presided over the establishment of the Department of Highways and the development of the interstate highway system. Moore also intervened in labor disputes, firing striking road maintenance workers and Charleston transit workers and negotiating a settlement to a national coal strike.

The passage of the Governor's Succession Act in 1970 allowed Moore to become the first governor to serve 2 consecutive, 4-year terms. During his second term, West Virginia's coal industry skyrocketed and Moore was considered to be a potential Republican presidential candidate, but a scandal temporarily derailed the Moore bandwagon. In 1975, Moore became the first sitting governor to be officially charged with a crime when he and his campaign manager were indicted for extortion in connection with his 1972 gubernatorial bid. They were found not guilty, but many suspected this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Throughout his first 2 terms, Moore had faced allegations of accepting illegal campaign contributions, income tax evasion, bribery, and misusing state funds. Despite these well- publicized accusations, Moore became the first West Virginia governor to serve 3 four-year terms when he was elected again in 1984. But the charges against him continued.

Following his loss to Gaston Caperton in the 1988 election, Moore became embroiled in a federal investigation of corruption in West Virginia. On April 13, 1990, Moore was formally indicted on charges of tax evasion, mail fraud, extortion, and obstruction of justice. Ironically, some of Moore's illegal activity involved the Black Lung Compensation Fund, which he had helped to create. He was charged with receiving $373,000 from the president of Maben Energy. In return, Moore supposedly used his influence to obtain a refund of more than $2 million which the coal company had paid into the Black Lung Compensation Fund.

He eventually pled guilty to 5 felony charges and was sentenced to 5 years and 10 months at the federal prison in Montgomery, Alabama. He served 2 years and, in 1995, settled a lawsuit with the state by agreeing to pay $750,000 to recoup money he had received through extortion and kickbacks.

More on Shelly Moore Capito's famous outlaw daddy!

Snip>

Moore received a sentence of five years and 10 months plus a $170,000 fine in 1990 for extortion, mail fraud, tax fraud and obstruction of justice. The charges stemmed from Moore's filing false campaign statements during his 1984 gubernatorial campaign, receiving a $573,000 kickback in 1985 from a coal company in exchange for a $2.3 million refund from the state's black lung disease fund, failing to report on his federal income tax form the $573,000 as income as well as another $70,000 he received from lobbyists in 1984 and 1985, and for asking his campaign manager and the representative of the coal company who provided the kickback to lie to federal investigators about his campaign contributions and spending.

********************************

One more Item about Shelly's daddy, is the sad tale of the even sadder state of the state, at the close of Arch A. Moore's last term in office! I couldn't find the story on the internet, but the sad truth is that Moore's final term as governor, not only ended in the great shame to our state because our governor went straight from the state house to the federal big-house for stealing, lying, and cheating, but during the last four years that Moore served us in the capitol, our state lost $279,000,000.00 in investments in "junk bonds" and speculative trading options! The state of Wv had to raise taxes on everyone in the state because of Moore's ineptitude!

Shelly Moore Capito had the gall to come back here about a year ago and try and help Arch Moore, in the hearings in which Moore tried to get the Wv bar association to reinstate his license to practice law in Wv again! Moore was unable to get his lawyer's license back in the end, because he is a convicted felon!

After all that Arch and his crew were caught up in, including stealing from the old and sick coal miner's black lung funds and sharing the spoils with the wealthy coal company CEOs and the costing the state $279 million because he and his merry crew of crooks, invested state funds in junk bonds and speculative trading options! The same kind of speculative trading options that Shelly is all for helping Bush invest our Social Security funds in!

No wonder we're the poorest state in the union year after year, even though we supply a huge percentage of the coal for the power plants all over the eastern United States! Wv should be rich, but we elect coal company flunkies like Moore and Underwood and that large sucking sound you hear, is all the revenue generated by big coal, leaving the state in the robber baron's, like Don Blankenship and the Addington gang's slick and slimy carpetbagger pockets! All we get out of "BIG COAL" is a hand full of scab jobs and our mountains trashed forever by the Huge Drag Buckets!

Robert Byrd's people need to get down and dirty, if the GOPers want to play that game of hardball and mud slinging, like the GOP and the BIG COAL money did to the good state supreme court judge last election! The GOP don't pull any punches when it comes to using anything...including bringing up everything in the opposing democrat's past history, or the history of the candidate's family! Senator Byrd has plenty to talk about when it comes to Shelly's family tree! Senator Byrd is a GREAT talker, but now is the time for action, if there ever was a time!

HOW MUCH 'MOORE' OF THIS BU$HIT...CAN West Virginia Handle????

11. Very Good Rant
That was pretty good.

Today I beat up the stupid republicans in the Jerry Waters chat room. As I said before, they want to blame Senator Byrd for EVERYTHING, including the proposed ANG closing in Charleston. Here are the facts:

The Republican congress wanted to delay this round of base closings, but backed off on account of a George W. Bush veto threat.

The President selects three of the nine member Base Realignment And Closure (BRAC) commission, including the chairman. One member, each, is selected by the Speaker of the House, Senate Majority Leader, House Minority Leader, and Senate Minority Leader. The remaining two members are nominated by the President, and confirmed by Congress.

Don't let anybody get by with calling the BRAC commission bipartisan. Two of the nine members are selected by Republicans, as I have shown.

The initial list of bases to be closed was prepared by Dubya's Secretary of Defense, Rummy. This list is then sent to the BRAC commission, which makes changes to the list, as it sees fit. The list is then sent to the President, then to Congress. Both the executive and legislative branches must vote yes or no on the list, and can make no changes.

So, some people don't like it because the REPUBLICANS they voted for are closing American military bases, to finance 14 permanent military bases in Iraq, etc, etc? Don't blame me, I didn't vote for them!

13. ANG Right Wingers Still in Denial
Those ANG right wingers are still in denial. They are so accustomed to blaming Democrats for everything, they will not admit, despite the many FACTS, that their idol Dubya and his neocons are the ones closing the Charleston ANG base. They're trying real hard to blame Byrd, and even Clinton.

Show them headlines like this:

Bush: Strategic Changes, Base Closings Needed
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-052705bush_lat,0,1297205.story?coll=la-home-headlines

and they reject the information, saying it's from the liberal news media. These people have some real issues! Wonder what they would say if I furnished a similar story from Fox News?

I told some of them Friday that their best hope of saving the Charleston base was if Democrats were to win back the Senate next year.

14. You told them right too!
They are total idiots, if they still trust the neocons at the Pentagon! Before Bush leaves Washington even the total idiot will be forced to see the light! America hasn't done anything but gone downhill since Bush TOOK office in 2001! Once an avalanche starts, it don't do anything but gain speed until it hits the bottom! It NEVER turns around and goes back up the hill!

When you tell one of those looney people who are blinded by the Reich the truth, they just can't admit that they blew it bigtime! All we can do is keep on trying, for the good of our country...
