GOP's anti-byrd ad blitz is beginning
the NRSC is already running an ad - 1 year and a 1/2 out, depte the fact that no significant opposit6ion has been declared yet.
viseo link: https://www.gopsenators.com/byrd

The transcript is
Announcer: “Nineteen fifty-two . . . War in Korea . . . and Robert Byrd went to Congress. Lot’s changed since then . . . Byrd voted for soldiers in the fifties . . . Today, against body armor in the War on Terror. Back then, he stood with working families . . . Today he votes higher taxes for the middle class. Then, Byrd protected our flag . . . now he votes to allow flag burning. Senator Byrd . . . We (all) agree he’s changed. But is it good for West Virginia? The NRSC is responsible for the content of this ad.”

of course the charleston daily mail and its rightwing staff are trumpeting this thing.
please send them a leeter to the editor defending our great seantor, if you have the time

Byrd is cosponsor of a flag protection bill in the Senate (not the Amendment to the Constitution, but a bill).

As for the body armor, I am curious to know when Byrd has voted against. He even voted for more tax cuts in the latest budget.

2. All the GOPers can do is sling more of their same old tired shit!
Stale at best! Byrd holds their feet to the fire and they can't stand it! Byrd calls Bushco out on their selfish unconstitutional bullshit and the neoGOPers are out to pay Mr Byrd back, like they did Joe Wilson and his wife!

3. Lies, as expected
The RNC can't even come up with new lies, they just re-use their old ones. For example, "... Today, against body armor in the War on Terror" is version of a lie they told about John Kerry, which was refuted on Urban Legends:
