Lewis booted from hotel

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Hiram Lewis says he is considering suing the Marriott Corp., West Virginia University and the WVU Alumni Association over his eviction from the Atlanta Marriott Marquis during Sugar Bowl week.

Lewis said the fracas began when he was handing out blue and gold placards that had “Let’s Go, Mountaineers!” on one side, and “Distributed by Hiram Lewis for U.S. Senate” on the other, at the WVU Fan Center at the Marriott.

He said Becky Lofstead, WVU information services director, not only asked that he stop distributing the placards, but asked hotel management to have him removed from the hotel.

“She claimed that it would confuse voters as to whether the university endorsed my campaign,” Lewis said.

2. The Placards Were Really Nice, Actually....

I wanted one until I saw his name on the back of it. At first I thought that maybe United Bank had done them. In the past they have passed out shakers and thundersticks (shudder) at WVU bowl games.
