Tom Rotten Show
Hey Huntington, does anyone else out there agree that Tom Rotten is a jackass? Why does WVHU continue to give this nut air time? Oh yeah, I forgot they are Clear Channel, never mind.

Seriously, please complain to the station, Clear Channel, and the FCC about WHVU and their support of this nut case bigot and homophobic asshole. Yes, I know his name is really Roten but Rotten seems to fit so well.

and have gotten into many a fight with his weasly little call screener over the years. the guy has a bizarre fiztion on homosexuals and can't go more than 10 minutes at a time without talking about the conspiratorial 'gay agenda'

among his works are calling for a marshall university professor to be murdered, backing the insane prayer amendment the college republicans put out, hosting the pro-war rally at the civic center for clear channel, and making up lies about so-called christian 'persecution' such as "Borders keep the holy bible in it's fictional section!"(yes, 'fictional', his words, not mine)

good luck calling the manager of the station, though. his name is paul swan (host of sports talk) and he's just as big a rightwing nutjob as rotten.

funny you brought up this topic. i'm working on an editirial to the herald-dispatch on some of tom's more insiduous quotes and asking how WVHU is fulfilling the FCC definition of 'serving the public interest'.

maybe we should start a campaign...

Mike Oliverieo wants to take choice out of the platform. If anyone can attend the Morgantown meeting it would be great. If not, please write letters to the above address in Charleston. Or email EMAIL: wvparty@wvdemocrats.com Sorry to hijack this message, but I can't start a new thread.

I didn't know you had WV roots. Yes, Rotten is a real nut case. Good god, Rotten must have devoted 80% of his air time to same sex marriage this week. He is one sick puppy. Why isn't his show confined to the religious hour on Sunday mornings? It is nothing but a Fundamentalist diatribe every day.

On edit:

Who is Rotten's call screener? He sounds really weird.

5. yes, from charleston originally
but am in the huntington area now.

don't know the name of roeten's screener, but he's also his co-host on the show. he has a really irritating nasal voice.

i think an interesting way to go after roten would be to get legitimate institutions like marshall university to distance themselves from him. roten is the voice of marshall sports on the radio and my making him an untouchable property, it would do a lot of damage to him

maybe something for the student activist groups to do int the fall

do you know when wvhu's license is up for renewal from the fcc? that could be a lot of fun to play with
