Callaghan out as Democratic party leader

Democratic nominee Joe Manchin has ousted the state Democratic Party chairman and replaced him with Nick Casey, Manchin's longtime personal lawyer and campaign treasurer.

Mike Callaghan, party chairman for one year, said today in a statement that he is "ending my chairmanship at the request of gubernatorial nominee Joe Manchin."

Callaghan's resignation is effective following the state Democratic Party convention June 12 in Beckley.


so what was Callaghan's sin for Manchin to kick him to the curb

Didn't know enough about Callaghan to be judgemental. But this just stinks. The Dem party here in WV is being polarized right before our eyes. This does not bode well.
