Candidates Refuse to Answer Questions - Led By Republican Candidate Karen Fritz

I never thought I would hear a candidate telling voters that they would not answer their questions because, "They were personal attacks." and "If you continue to ask these types of questions I am going to leave."

But that was exactly what voters in Nitro heard last night at the meet the candidates which was held at the Nitro Womans Club. These candidates led by Republican Candidate for Nitro City Recorder Karen Fritz and Former Mayor Don Karnes.

Former Mayor Karnes told voters that his criminal record was not an issue. Outright lied to voters regarding his use of city employees on his farm - while he was Mayor.

When asked to comment on the number of times he had been arrested, Karnes became indignant - refusing to answer.

Fritz was no better. When asked about the bribe of $250,000 to get Nitro Police Chief Jack Jordan fired - she stated, "This is a personal attack." She went on to say more than once that she was not going to answer questions.

But Fritz and Karnes were at least animated. The losers of the evening had to be Fourth Ward Councilman Bill Javins, Candidate for Council Laura Mallett and Mayoral Candidate Gertie Estep. Bill Javins was appointed to fill the vacancy left by Mark Goodall. His presence well, WHO REALLY EVEN NOTICES THIS MAN. He is eat up with little man syndrome. I am not even familiar with his opponent but I will be voting for him.

Candidate for Council Laura Mallet (aka Karen Fritz / Don Karnes puppet) This woman spent more time talking about a dance club than issues about Nitro. I don't think she has a clue about what is really going on in our town. By the way - was she a last minute filer????

My goodness - that is all I can say about current Councilwoman and Mayoral Candidate Gertie Estep. This woman has no idea what day it is. Can you say - a candidate to try and draw a few votes to skew the election. Nitro should have done what St. Albans and most cities have done and gone to a primary election to have two candidates for Mayor.

If you will recall - Hitler was voted in power with less than 30% of the vote.

The behavior of the candidates was bad BUT THEIR RELATIVES EVEN WORSE....

Former Mayor Don Karnes, wife and daughter should have stayed home. His daughter verbally attacked a woman in the hallway calling her a bitch. One might think that outrageous.. But like mother like daughter... she was just repeating the names her mother was calling the poor lady on the receiving end.

I am sure the CIRCUS is just beginning.... i want a ringside seat... I will be bringing a video camera next time. I think people should hear the statements of Mrs. Fritz refusing to answer truly relevent questions - by the way hasn't she thrown a fit everytime someone refused to answer her questions.

Also, she stated has stated that people were trying to personally attack and destroy her. IF THAT IS NOT THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL MRS FRITZ - YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW. YOU HAVE DESTROYED MORE PEOPLE WITH YOUR LIES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS THAN ANYONE IN THE HISTORY OF OUR CITY.

I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR PAYBACK.

I WILL BE AT THE NEXT GATHERING OF CANDIDATES AND HOPE TO SEE MRS. FRITZ AND FORMER MAYOR KARNES AND CREW (BILL JAVINS, LAURA MALLET, AND GERTIE ESTEP)

HIGHLIGHTS WILL BE GIVEN TO SOMEONE WHO CAN GET IT ONLINE FOR ALL TO SEE.

Any candidate who is unwilling to answer for their behavior should step asdie!

Does Karnes actually think everyone has forgotten his dirty dealings in the past....his drinking...his DUI arrests?
Did he think no one would remember...no one would adress his audacity?

And Fritz....wants OPEN, HONEST, TOTAL TRANSPARENCY from officials, yet when asked to explain her actions she becomes indignant?

Just another example of those who want only their own form of "honesty" in government.
