We are Next - The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists push Ban on Gay Marriage

http://lezgetreal.com/2008/11/west-virginia-you-are-next-on-christian.html

Yesterday on Lez Get Real we reported that New York and New Jersey were on the Christian Agenda. Today we are letting you know that West Virginia is on the "hit" list. The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists, which consist of 200 churches, has joined a socially conservative political action group in calling for an amendment to the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The Alliance Alert reports:

The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists passed a resolution Friday calling on their membership to support a marriage protection amendment to the West Virginia Constitution. The group passed the resolution on the first day of its annual meeting in Parkersburg.

"West Virginians want to define marriage for themselves,” said Jeremy Dys, president and general counsel of the Family Policy Council of West Virginia. “They do not want government setting a policy – and they especially do not want a court imposing a system – that knowingly deprives children of a mom or a dad.” . . .

1. Well then, I guess they'll be banning divorce next, right?
:puke: Stupid fuckers. Why, if they say they want to let West Virginians to define marriage for themselves, do they want to change the law?

Because clearly that's not what they want. They wanna stop gay sex. Well, best way to stop sex in any relationship seems to be marriage...

2. Why would straight people worry so much about what a gay person
does?

I do set around any worry, about people who attack and try to diminish other people's civil rights.

Did these Southern Baptist's parents never care enough about their kids to teach them things like..."MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS"?????

For a party that don't believe in "Government Intrusion Into People's Lives" the Bible humper's sure don't seem to practice a single thing that they preach 24/7.

I wish they wouldn't ring those freakin' bells on Sunday morning when I have a hangover from Saturday Night, but I don't sit around the rest of the damned week and bitch about it!

4. I like how they ignore the 800lb gorilla............
that is the fact that almost half of the marriages in this country end in divorce, and the kids always pay the price.
