He doesn't have the specialized knowledge required for a cabinet secretary. And I think he's planning on taking over Senator Byrd's seat in 2012.

Except that I think he's hoping to appoint himself to Bobby's Senate position prior to 2012. Smelly won't run against him either way 4 years from now because (a) she showed us 2 years ago that she's a chicken, (b) she can't beat him, and (c) she'll run for Governor so she can be just like daddy.
But Anne Barth is a newcomer they'll both have to take into account. I like her.

This man is an idiot. Sure he is claiming a good economy in WV but it is at the cost of our mountains. The economy is propped up by mountain top removal and the laying to waste vast natural resources. The cost in the end will be more than WV has ever gained from the mining. With the exception of the corrupt politicians who are in Massey Energy's pocket.
I was at a meeting with this man when he was Secretary of State and he bragged about jerking a high school student up by his shirt and forcing him to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. The he was dumb enough to say "by God this is America." If he had touched me in that manner I would have sued the pants off of him and pressed charges for assault and battery.

I think my biggest concern is that not only does mountaintop removal ruin the mountains, valleys and rivers it is a scam. It is non-union, uses hundreds less miners than underground methods and causes damage that costs more to fix than the money brought into the state budget. The only winners are Massey and the politicians who get the bribes.
