Warner campaign director to sue party chief

The former director of the Monty Warner for Governor campaign said Monday he will file a defamation lawsuit against state Republican Party Chairman Kris Warner for calling him a terrorist last week.

Earlier this month, Leggitt said Kris Warner was behind the controversial yard signs linking his brother Monty to President Bush in this year’s campaign, something Kris Warner denies.

Last week and again Monday, Kris Warner said Leggitt was telling this story to extort money from Monty Warner, who allegedly owes him and his wife $25,000 for work on his campaign.
