Republicans keep Warner as chairman (WV)
http://www.dailymail.com/news/News/2005011011/

At least for now, West Virginia's Republican Party has cast its lot with embattled Chairman Kris Warner.

Saturday's meeting of the party's executive committee adjourned without an anticipated no-confidence vote on Warner's two-year tenure as GOP chief. For at least some of Warner's critics, the Flatwoods meeting ended without resolving any of the troubling allegations leveled against the Morgantown developer.

"A chiropractor couldn't make a dime on the Republican Party; there's not a spine in the bunch,'' said Delegate Ray Canterbury, R-Greenbrier, who attended the meeting with his father, a committee member.

would have loved to be a fly on that wall

2. GOP chairmen in WV are strictly ceremonial
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 08:53 PM by Adenoid_Hynkel
all the real work is done through negative ads from 3rd party interests or the national GOP

case in point-the phony child advocacy group founded to take down Warren McGraw

Now it looks like Dr Dobson is gunning for Byrd. And, as much as progressive folks I tak=lk to scoff at the idea of Byrd being defeated, it's a very real possibility. They're going to unload the nastiest campaign in WV history on our great senator in '06. Progressives need to start raising funds to counter these ads yesterday.

3. I agree, we can't take Byrd's seat for granted
anymore. And what they did to McGraw was below the lowest of dirty tactics. Since it worked so well for them, of course they'll do it again.
