As an WNIT team, the Mountaineers were given the chance to play three straight home games, allowing them to bounce back from a disappointing Big East tournament setback and shake off the doldrums of a midseason slump that included a loss to Marshall and some angry public comments from coach Mike Carey.
By winning those three tournament games in Morgantown and picking up a double-overtime semifinal victory at Kentucky, the Mountaineers (21-12) have earned themselves a berth in the WNIT finals against Southwest Missouri State (24-8) at 8:05 tonight in Springfield, Mo.
