Madison socializers who used to walk down to their local tavern for a few drinks and a smoke, now, because of the Smoking Ban, are forced to the suburbs for their dose of public interaction.
"This has the potential to cause a statistical increase in the amount of miles driven by drunk drivers" says LPDC Press Secretary Rolf Lindgren.
"Because of the.08 law, it can take only three drinks to put a Madison socializer over the legal limit to drive. And because of the cab tri-opoly, cab service in Dane county is expensive and inconvenient."
"Many who used to walk or drive only a mile to the tavern, now may be driving 10 miles."
"An increase in drunk driving may be the smoking gun that kills the smoking ban."
Adds LPDC spokesman Bruce Rideout; "This is free country."
"Smoking in bars goes back hundreds of years".
Other Reasons to Repeal the Smoking Ban:
* The Smoking Ban is an attack on property rights and minority rights
* The Smoking Ban is an escalation of the Drug War
* The Smoking Ban will cost Madison Jobs
Libertarians urge all concerned citizens to attend the Rally To Save Madison Jobs, today at 5 PM at the City-County Building, Front Steps, 210 Martin Luther King Blvd.
