Wow, wow, wow!

Kristen Dexter won narrowly over Terry Moulton, an asshole fundie of the Zien stripe, in the 68th. I went to bed not knowing the result of that one.

And Jeff Wood won over Don Moga in the 67th. There is a story behind the Wood victory. You may remember Wood as the Republican author of the infamous TABOR bill and other such nonsense. Well, he broke with the Republicans and ran as an independent. It took the Republicans no time at all to come up with Moga and put a lot of money behind him--they were inclined to punish Wood for his betrayal. Moga is a hard-core Republican of the Neanderthal variety. Wood actually came to the Democrats--spoke at a county party meeting--in search of support. Both Pat Kreitlow and Jeff Smith supported him informally, figuring they could pull him into the Dem Assembly caucus. We had no Democratic candidate in the race. Anyway, Wood won, so we have an Independent with a grudge against the Republicans and a sense of obligation to the Dems instead of a bark-eating wacko in the 67th. Ya takes yer wins where ya kin find them.
