Alright, I need help picking between two Madison steakhouses for Graduation
Its between Johnny Delmonico's and Capitol Chop House.

Now, I've been to Johnny D's 4 or 5 times and I love the place. But my parents have been there two times by now. I want to try something new, a steakhouse I havent been to, and they are actually staying in the Hilton which is where the Capitol Chop House is. Has anybody been there before? If so, how good is it?

I've ruled out Smokys and Tornado because the former is way overrated, and the latter I went to tonight and thought it was decent, but not better than Delmonicos.

So what do I go with WIsconsin DUers? Old reliable Johnny D's, or something new in the Chop House?

1. I'd vote old reliable Delmonicos
If the Chop House in the Hilton is the same as the Chop House in the Hilton in Milwaukee, then it's not worth your time.

2. Why a steakhouse, btw?

There are boatloads of great restaurants in Madison. {Are you sensing my jealousy?} If you're game for taking a risk or going out on a limb for graduation, why not look at something different?

5. Ah, well, I see your point.
It's been my experience that nothing is more disappointing than a bad steak when you've got a hankering. I still say Delmonicos.

4. Does it have to be Madison proper?
Given how busy UW-Madison graduations are (10,000 students/semester), it may be worth going a bit out of town to eat. Maybe consider Stoughton, a short trip but probably much quieter and easier to get in and not fight the rush.
