Once they started installing those stop-and-go lights I knew we were losing our charm.

1. "stop and go lights"
Edited on Thu Feb-19-09 07:22 AM by Sabien
are rapidly disappearing. They're installing roundabouts all over the state, which can be a good thing - IF YOU TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO NAVIGATE THEM!

1. Look and Yield, don't stop if there isn't a car approaching you in the roundabout.
2. Signal your right blinker before leaving the roundabout.

Those 2 things would make them so much easier to get through, but the state is sticking these things all over without teaching it's residents to navigate through them.

6. My major complaint about roundabouts is

when they are near an area that has a lot of traffic during a shift change and most traffic is going (East to West) and you're going (North to South) you don't stand a chance to get into the roundabout because it's just a continuous flow of traffic. I've learned to avoid those areas now.

2. Toll roads?
We'd become like Delaware! Or worse: Illinois! :scared:

3. I just can't picture a 1972 Ford pickup with "Farm" license plates with an I-PASS mounted to it.
People from Illinois might start calling us "fwbs".

If the state is that hard up, how about selling the Southernmost 5 miles of the state to Illinois. Can't really tell the difference, anyway.

4. Horrible idea
that is one thing I like in the Upper Midwest (WI, MN, IA, ND, SD), that you can travel anywhere and not pay a thing to drive on the roads.

I was down in KS and OK last week and I was not impressed by the toll roads down there.
