Rory Kuenzi, 24, Weyauwega, is charged with six counts of felony mistreatment of animal causing death, theft and vehicle theft arising from a Jan. 9 incident in the town of Lind in which he and two others are accused of running down and killing a group of deer with their snowmobiles.
At a court appearance Wednesday, Kuenzi pleaded not guilty to a list of new charges — six counts of taking a deer in the closed season and one count of resisting a conservation warden. Kuenzi already faces eight ordinance violations stemming from the same series of events.
Kuenzi's attorney, public defender Troy Nielsen, told Judge Philip Kirk he needs time to discuss the case with the district attorney's office.
