Fan Fest (Green Bay Packers) Attendance Way Down - Wonder Why?

The comments are overwhelmingly against tightwad teddie. And I agree that the author (Vandermause) is using the economy as the sole reason attendance is down. What an ass. I'm sure it's part of it, but not all.

"Demand was so high that an estimated 18,000 people tried to order tickets in the first half-hour and jammed telephone lines. At Lambeau Field, ticket buyers began showing up at 1 in the morning. Bidding on eBay reached as high as $455 for a pair of tickets, which then cost $55 apiece at face value.

Times have changed in the last four years.

There were more than 400 unsold tickets for the fifth annual Fan Fest, which concluded Saturday at the Lambeau Field atrium. . . . "

"Some of the comments are pretty interesting (& funny- Check out the post about "Mom" defending her child.)

Or the low turnout shows that fans WILL hold a team accountable for orginizational BLUNDERS and a 6-10 recored on the field. Whichever!? All the economy does is give the orginization another excuse. This column is nothing more than another shot from Vandermause (Teddy's cabana boy) at BF. If the product on the field would have been better, turnout would have been better. I hope the economy does't buy TT another year if the results don't imporve drastically. How's Harrell doin?? I bet he's itchin' ta get at it.. . . . "

I think saying low turnout is an economic thing is a cop out. It may have had some impact, but not near that which writers here are insinuating. It is not just the economy, it is not just the Brett fiasco, it is not just the draft, it is all that and more.

Talk to the average person on the street, see what they have to say. We did not go because we have been given nothing to be excited about yet, either real or percieved. As it stands now, there is no reason to expect more than last year. Give the fans more, give us something to bring us back together... to correct what you did last year to divide us. . . . "

I have led the Packers to a fantastic 31-33 record.
I traded the real reason that we went 13-3 in 2007.
No free agents want to come to Green Bay because of me.
I rewarded the QB who led us to that terrific 6-10 record this year with a $65 million contract.
AND...now even the fans don't care anymore...

Who cares?
I've got a contract extension until eternity, and those hairless wimps (Murphy and the Executive Committee) don't have the balls to fire me!

Man, I love this job!

Your name is all we need to know with stupid idiotic comments like yours!!!

Hi Mom,
Thanks for defending me, but I told you to stop posting here.
LOL

1. $85 ? No way
I would not pay that if they were 19-0 and featuring an appearance by Vince Lombardi himself.

Of course the economy is the cause. The Packers played twice down here this year. No dice for our family. In years past we would've snapped up 10-12 tickets easy.
