RACINE — Eleven people will be on the city’s April 7 primary ballot for mayor, including three aldermen, a state representative, a former state senator, a bank vice president, a realtor and an accountant.
The mayoral candidates are: Jaimie Charon, John Dickert, Jody Harding, Alderman Greg Helding, former County Supervisor Lesia Hill-Driver, former County Supervisor Raymond Fay, former Alderman Pete Karas, former state Sen. Kim Plache, Alderman and County Supervisor Q.A. Shakoor, II, Alderman Jim Spangenberg and state Rep. Robert Turner.
If anyone else brings in papers, “They are too late,” said City Clerk Janice Johnson-Martin after the filing deadline Wednesday. The primary is April 7 and the election will be May 5. Thursday at 10 a.m. the city clerk’s office is deciding on the order the candidates’ names will appear on the ballot. Johnson-Martin said the city could still be asked to review the candidates’ nomination papers to ensure the signatures are all valid.
The new mayor will take office May 20, filling the seat former Mayor Gary Becker resigned after he was arrested on charges including child solicitation and attempted sexual assault of a minor.

I think everyone probably heard about Gary Becker's scandal and subsequent resignation. Well, there is no shortage of people interested in following that class act. I don't move there until April, so I don't know any of these people. Anyone have any thoughts to share?
