Feingold too chummy with Republics?
Karen Graff came to our Marathon County Dem meeting Thursday. She passed out a newsletter put out by Feingold. In it he mentioned 7 legislators, 5 of which were Republics. There were two pictures and in one he was standing with Paul Ryan (R) and in the other he was with David Dreier (R) and SENSENBRENNER (and we all know what letter he has after his name). Someone said,"If you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas." Jerry Madison, a long time Dem, said it's kind of strange to bring this info filled with Republics into a Dem meeting. Me thinks Russ is overdoing the bipartisanship bit a little too much. The usual Feingold fawning we Dems do was quite muted.

1. I trust Feingold.
He does what his principles tell him is the right thing to do. I wish more people would do that.

2. I think its a sign of strength.
And the only thing that would change my mind is if it affected his votes. Feingold is after all, a fiscal conservative, which is the only good thing about conservatism. That's why he draws enough votes from Republicans to win in Wisconsin. He is up for re-election in 2010.

It's a good thing that he has such cordial professional relationships with the other side. Maybe he can win them over.

4. I agree with much of what you say
However, we will not be winning any Republics over as they are too afraid of being ostracized from their own party.

7. I can't remember Dr. Deans complete strategy, but it goes something
like-befriend the republicans. Dr. Dean is a brilliant man who helped us take back this country with his ability to reach over to others who are not Democrates.

3. He's against renditions and torture. I'm not sure I can say that about my other senator
who seems more concerned about pick-up basketball games.

5. Oh bull.
Feingold is as liberal as they come and taking pictures with Republicans won't change that.

6. He liberally spreads the Constitution around for the
State of Wisconsin and the Country to know that the rule of law matters. We are so lucky to have him as our Senator.
