Damn, I Thought I Was Done With Brett Till I Saw This:
Now, I am as die-hard a Brett fan as there is, but going to the vikings, well, I can't handle that. Then I found this, and I can tell I'm waffling:

8. Seconded. He jerked around the Packers management and fans with his "retirement"
drama for a long time before they "ran him out of town".

Fuck him. The blame lies 100% on Favre.

7. Wow...
Edited on Fri Aug-21-09 03:35 PM by Serial Mom
and on his official website (you posted link above) on the Forward Foundation page, toward bottom is this quote:

Financial Requests

At this time, the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation is not accepting applications for grants. Please check back on our website for updates on application submittal.

So does this mean he doesn't have enough money to share? Geez...

most athletes set up foundations to employ members of the family and get tax breaks... with a minimal donation of their own money to start the foundation and the rest comes from people who give. I saw some research on Michael Jordan's Foundation - he started with initial $500,000 of his own money (a man who was making upwards of $10 mil a year in salary and endorsements at time of foundation set up) and employed about 6-7 members of his family (his mom was at top of list in salary)

Wonder if Brent's (not misspelled, ref from FB site We will Never Forget You Brent) Foundation is same, and/or is nobody is donating?

If so can you link to the actual post where this quote originated?

Thanks!

11. I think he was hired as a multi-tasking position. One is quarterback, another to
stir up competition with the other quarterbacks and get these people around someone with more experience. Another is to possibly coach and teach. Is it possible that he will not be able to quit Football at all and is looking to pad his resume with "coaching"?
I do not think he is there strictly as a quarterback due to prior injury and ability. Interesting I think. Not sure exactly ow I feel about it but will watch and see.

12. got this in an email a few moments ago......
Pinocchio, Snow White, and Superman are out for a stroll in town one day. As they walk, they come across a sign: "Contest: Looking for the most beautiful woman in the world."

"I'm entering!" said Snow White. After the contest she comes out and they ask her, "Well, how'd ya do?" "First Place!" said Snow White.

They continue walking and they see a sign: "Contest: Looking for the strongest man in the world."

"I'm entering," says Superman. After the contest he returns and they ask him, "How did you make out?" "First Place," answers Superman. "Was there any doubt?"

They continue walking until they see yet another sign: "Contest! Who is the greatest liar in the world?" Naturally, Pinocchio enters.

After the contest he returns with tears in his eyes. "What happened?" they asked. "I came in 2nd; who the hell is this Brett Favre, anyway?" asked Pinocchio.
