1. Tommy likes to sit at the head of the great big table and make executive-type

decisions and pronouncements. He's as imperious as they come, and as ignorant and clueless as he is imperious, with malevolence in strong and frequent gusts.

If he became a Senate candidate it would mean that he'd be bargaining to become a lowly junior senator, sitting down and negotiating and compromising and doing the detailed work of cobbling together bills, with no clout or influence for years to come.

I just don't think his ego would absorb that role.

2. Ugh. Why don't they ever call for someone to challenge Kohl??
Frankly, if health care gets off the ground, I don't think Tommy would stand a chance despite his popularity in the red parts of the state. If we continue on this path, I don't know what will happen. It's been a decade and I'm wondering how many supporters he has from the olden days.

4. Why would you want the GOP to put up a strong candidate for either seat?

5. Because Feingold actually sticks his neck out there.
Kohl has earned the name Nobody's Senator. Admittedly, this term, things seem a bit more progressive with him. But no one of any import ever challenges him. Feingold always seems to have a "serious" challenger. Guess it's the neck-sticking-out bit that does it.

Tommy is awful, and I think he would not do as well against Feingold as they think he would.

6. There was a congresswoman on his show today
I think her last name was Klayfish or something like that, and she made the comment that Wisconsin and the country is leaning towards conservatism in the next election.
