I kind of expected Walker to win, and even for the pug takeover of the House, but losing Feingold? This is something that stings almost too much to bear. He was essentially my last remaining hope for the dems, Wisconsin, and the country. Now that he's gone I hope he finds bigger and better things to move on to and I think I will be stepping back from the political scene for a while.

5. Now what? Do nothing! Watch the GOP self-destruct!

It was obvious all along Walker and Johnson were going to win. I was prepared for that. I was surpised to see huge GOP gains in the Assembly and Senate.

The Republicans will soon be a victum of their own success. Their ideas are doomed to failure and if the public is as impatient with them as they have been the last 18 months, the pendullum swings the other way.

I'm going to sit back and watch it all unfold.

6. Rest a few days

Then prepare for 2012. If Herb Kohl doesn't run, mayb Feingold will run for that spot. Early this morning for relaxation I went out and picked up signs of the bad guys that were placed where they shouldn't be. I now have about 20 wires ready for the next race. And some rube had stapled his signs over old 1998 Tommy Thompson signs. Now I have five collector items.

I almost wish that "God Squad" guy had got elected. That would have fixed the Republicans.

I don't know. I mean I want to do something, but what can be done? As far as policy formulation and creation goes, I don't have the millions of dollars to outbid the current owners of our state's Supreme Court, Legislature, and Executive branches. Since they're pretty much bought and sold, and I'm not holding the receipt, what's available other than watching them run the state straight into the craphole? I mean we're sitting in a state with a completely un-accountable government--no checks, no balances--whose elections go to the highest bidder. Why should they care about anything I do?

Once the Republicans start legislating crazy stuff like repealing same day registration and craming thru conceal and carry, the public will regret this election. Does Wisconsin law allow for recall elections? If so, what does it take for assembly, senate and Gov seats?

12. How to recall officials

Any elected official can be recalled by the statutory procedure. Recall cannot begin until the rascal has been in office for one year. After that, some unhappy citizens register with the GAB the intent to circulate a recall petition. Then within 60 days they get signatures equal to at least 25% of the votes for governor in the last election in whatever jurisdiction the rascal represents (statewide, legislative district, etc.). Then the rascal gets a chance to challenge the petitions (ineligible signers, wrong dates, etc.). Administrative and judicial proceedings occur. If the petition is finally upheld, a recall election is scheduled, with a primary before that if necessary. The winner serves until the end of the original term (that is, unhappy citizens get only one chance to recall a rascal during a particular term). See Wisconsin Statutes sec. 9.10.
