And... it's gone. Nice work creating jobs, Walker!!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/09/wisconsin-highspeed-rail-_n_794721.html

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is taking $1.2 billion in high-speed rail money away from Ohio and Wisconsin and awarding it to 12 other states, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Thursday.

Both Ohio and Wisconsin have elected incoming Republican governors who oppose the rail projects. Those governors, whose states have been hit hard by the economic downturn, had asked if they could divert the money to other projects.

But LaHood said he was awarding the money to states that are eager to have it for their rail projects.

High-speed trains will not only improve transportation but reinvigorate manufacturing and put people back to work in jobs that pay well, LaHood predicted in a statement.

Talgo just announced they are leaving Milwaukee - so 60 jobs gone (possible 100 more). Oh, and all of the jobs to build the rail.

3. But but but he promised...
But Walker promised he'd make a million billion trillion new jobs in Wisconsin! And he promised the money could be switched to building roads and puppies for the children!

One question though: how long will it take before Scooter's sycophants on AM radio and the Journal try to pin this all on Pres. Obama and Governor Doyle?

10. Jim Doyle has said building the line would have created about 5,500 jobs.
He has warned that stopping the project will result in the immediate loss of more than 400 jobs and cost the state the more than $14 million it has already spent on the line.

11. That would be nearly $200 million in wages annually
Taxable wages and goods purchased by the employees and for the work needed to be done in Wisconsin.

Why was Walker qualified to govern?
