http://www.peshtigotimes.net/index.php?id=15415The proposed Anna’s Vineyard at Green Island was discussed as the result of an executive summary presented at the meeting. Currently Green Island is privately owned by Roen Salvage Co. of Sturgeon Bay. Former State Assembly Speaker John Gard, Madison, is involved as a consultant on the project to help obtain the necessary permits.
Estimated tax revenues of the project are $1,271,872 annually in property taxes and state sales taxes at $794,424 annually.
The project was endorsed by the Marinette County Economic Development Committee on Monday, Dec. 20. County Board Chairman George Bousley expects the project to come before the Land Information Committee and the full County Board in January.
Gard, lead consultant and spokesperson working with the Town of Peshtigo, Marinette County and state said, “I will answer questions, help through the permitting process and try to generate support in both public and private sectors. This is a tremendous opportunity to increase the tax base and employment opportunities in Marinette County.”It's gonna ruin the fishing by that island.
