Wanna know what Gard's been up to?
http://www.peshtigotimes.net/index.php?id=15415

The proposed Anna’s Vineyard at Green Island was discussed as the result of an executive summary presented at the meeting. Currently Green Island is privately owned by Roen Salvage Co. of Sturgeon Bay. Former State Assembly Speaker John Gard, Madison, is involved as a consultant on the project to help obtain the necessary permits.

Estimated tax revenues of the project are $1,271,872 annually in property taxes and state sales taxes at $794,424 annually.

The project was endorsed by the Marinette County Economic Development Committee on Monday, Dec. 20. County Board Chairman George Bousley expects the project to come before the Land Information Committee and the full County Board in January.

Gard, lead consultant and spokesperson working with the Town of Peshtigo, Marinette County and state said, “I will answer questions, help through the permitting process and try to generate support in both public and private sectors. This is a tremendous opportunity to increase the tax base and employment opportunities in Marinette County.”

It's gonna ruin the fishing by that island.

1. What fishing?
You're obviously not from this area, I am, and I can tell you, there is no fishing. We live on the bay of green bay, very cold water, fish stay down real deep and more over towards fish creek or sturgeon bay. Green island if u didn't know has shallow water all around it for about a mile out, and by shallow I mean about a foot deep in most place, hence why there was a light house installed in the first place, not for the island, but for the shallow depth. And this project will do a lot of good for the area, as a restaurant owner I fully support it and so do most of the people in the area. Have you ever met John gard? He's a very nice person, also a good customer, you should really get to know a person before you start saying things about them, really shows your character.

2. LOL! Get to know John Gard?
I think you might be in the wrong place if you think those of us here don't have a thorough understanding of who John Gard is and what a "special" person he is.

Attacking the original poster totally erases from your post anything you might have gained from making a reasoned argument.

It really shows your character.

4. The guy who fucked over Pound, WI?
Edited on Tue Jan-04-11 07:15 PM by TheMightyFavog
During the planning phase for the widening of hwy 141, he used his influence to get a proposed freeway exit on hwy 141 moved from Pound, WI a few miles southwards to his "boyhood home" in Lena. Now Pound's only access to the highway is a extremely dangerous intersection where 64 crosses 141.
