Four companies are being blamed in the O'Donnell law suit.
I'm wondering why the lack of a budget to pay for the maintenance is not being called into question at this time?

Defendants in the case are Advance Cast Stone of Random Lake, J. H. Findorff & Son Inc. of Madison, C.D. Smith Construction of Fond du Lac, and Dietz Drafting and Design of Burlington.

Advance Cast Stone designed, fabricated and installed the 70 decorative concrete panels on the garage's outer walls. Findorff was construction manager of the entire project, C.D. Smith designed and built the precast parapet walls of the structure, and Dietz was involved in engineering on the project.

This is an interesting portion of the article:

William Cannon, a lawyer for Dawn Kellner, Jared's mother, said he rushed to file his lawsuit this week in advance of the expected passage of civil litigation reform legislation that would limit damages paid in such cases. The measure was sought by Republican Gov. Scott Walker as part of a package aimed at improving the business climate.

Cannon said it was "curious" that Walker was promoting the change when as Milwaukee County executive he said he hoped to join with the Kellner family in a possible lawsuit targeting those at fault.
Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie didn't respond to a call.

Curious, maybe, but not unexpected.

3. Thanks
I wasn't familiar with this case....

Is it my imagination or is Walker looking sleazier by the day?

6. Is it my imagination
or didn't I used to think he could possibly even look sleazier?

I hope Wisconsin realizes very quickly how big of a turd this guy is.

4. Second lawsuit filed against the same defendants
They are filing ahead of the proposed change in tort law by the Republicans. (I refuse to use the phrase "tort reform" for this because reform implies making something better, which does not apply here.)

Amy, Steven and Eric Wosinski, of East Troy, claim "severe physical and emotional injury" from the collapse of a 13 ½ ton concrete panel that fell from the garage last June. Amy Wosinski needed a below-the-knee amputation and Eric Wosinski broke his leg when the O'Donnell panel fell.

The panel also killed 15-year-old Jared Kellner, who was with the Wosinskis on an outing to Summerfest when the accident happened.

The Wosinski lawsuit accuses the firms of concealing or misrepresenting flaws with the design and installation of the 70 precast panels, including the one that fell. Kellner's family filed a similar, separate lawsuit.

5. Thank you dragon lady for the links and posting the articles.
I was watching the news and the first thing that came to mind was the zero dollar amount budget proposal for Milwaukee Co. So walker gets into office and creates an environment that business profit is more important than safety....

7. Well, what's the safety of some human 'people' compared
Well, what's the safety of some human 'people' compared to the safety of the corporate 'people' Scott owes his career to?

We know which kind of 'person' got him elected. And which kind of 'person' owns him. Should we be surprised when we find out which kind of 'person's' safety he's interested in?
