Xav Leplae has been among the protesters on and off over the last two weeks, but there for good since Saturday, which is also the day he decided to go on a hunger strike.
"What I'm seeing is my state being eroded," Leplae, 44, told me Wednesday while we sat together on the floor of the rotunda. The effort to limit collective bargaining rights for public workers strips them of their humanity and makes civil society a "jungle," he said.
