I kind of thought this would be coming - eventually. But as early as next month Walker may be presenting his next bit of legislation which is he appoints managers to usurp local elected officials of "financially troubled" cities and townships. They have power to fire at will anyone for any reason and take over the governing of entire cities/townships. Michigan is a few monthes ahead of us. In Benton Harbor MI the newly installed manager tthere recently issued an order reading in part:
"Absent prior express written authorization and approval by the Emergency
Manager, no City Board, Commission or Authority shall take any action for or on behalf of the
City whatsoever other than:
i) Call a meeting to order.
ii) Approve of meeting minutes.
iii) Adjourn a meeting."
Note that Forbes isnt exactly a left wing publication. Make of it what you will.
