people in the background
I don't know when this photo was taken, but it accompanied an online story about Walker signing the voter ID bill today.

I think I recognize Leah Vukmir - but who are the rest of the peanut gallery?

3. The man in the red-and-white stripped tie
Edited on Thu May-26-11 06:52 AM by ewagner
Is Senator Joe Liebham, sponsor of the bill..

in the second picture, the dude waaayyyyyy in the background behind the man with the red tie looks like Scott Fitzgerald..

the woman next to Liebham may be his wife....although I've never met her.

8. Liebham is "sponsor"
but snotty Scotty was all proud of the fact that he wrote that "voter ID" bill 10 years ago.

ugh

4. They think it’s all a fucking joke and they are laughing at US!
I been involved with this Walker CLUSTERFUCK since the first snow storm in Madison and this picture make me want to hurt them. Lets hit them in their pocketbooks where it hurt them the most. Let’s shut the entire state down with a general strike because what we been doing for the last 100 days plus is not working! Lets wipe the smiles off these clown's faces ..... SHUTE ER DOWN!

5. They're pathological. There's nothing you can do to wipe the smile
from their faces except to unelect them. That's all they manage to ever show any regret over - things that directly affect their lives and futures.

Even then, you won't get the credit. They'll be victims of some perceived wrong, not their own stupidity and the world's resulting efforts to put them in a box.

These are sick people. You can't take their pathology personally. You just have to work hard to make sure everyone understands who these sick people are and what they are doing so when the time comes, we can send them home.

As to your point, a general strike only works if it's big and inclusive. At this point, I don't see enough groups motivated for that.

Instead, large numbers of the people who marched in Madison seem more intent on the recalls and to be gearing up for Walker's recall.

6. Recalling Walker is going to be tough
first because we can't do it until January...that's an eternity in political time and second because it will require a MASSIVE mobilization for both the signature collection and the recall campaign itself....

My hope is that this new voter ID bill which they rushed through to take place in the recall elections in July will cause so much confusion and anger at the polls that it will tip the scale past the point of no return and a HUGE portion of the state will want these jokers out.

7. I got pissed when I saw this picture this morning ...
Then I drove up to Madison and did some volunteer work for WISDEMS ... that helped.

Last Sunday there were three of us at Janesville public library collecting Walker recall pledges and inside 3/4 of an hour we collected about 30 signatures. We had a few that refused to sign but the mobilization is on! I’m in this for the duration ... whatever it takes!
