UPDATE: Weiner cancels appearance at Wisconsin Dems' convention
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner has canceled his scheduled appearance at the Wisconsin Democratic Party convention in Milwaukee.

The embattled New York Democrat had been scheduled to speak on Friday night. State party spokesman Graeme Zielinski said Friday morning that Weiner had canceled but he had no other details.

Weiner has been involved in an embarrassing flap regarding a lewd picture sent from his Twitter account. Weiner has said he's done talking about the issue.

The state party says it expects more than 2,000 people at its convention Friday and Saturday. It says attendance last year was about 1,300.

I don't think we care about last week in the least...well, I can see if he doesn't want to talk about it...there are more important things to talk about.

3. I agree. It would have been his BEST move to do the appearance as scheduled.
He would have been among cheering, welcoming friends, and would have drawn a huge national media audience for a speech on progressive values. How much better does it get?

He has a lot of fans in the WI Dem Party and he is letting them down.
