Walker says most voters aren't interested in recall elections and want to 'move on'
By Craig Gilbert of the Journal Sentinel
June 20, 2011 1:10 p.m. | Gov. Scott Walker says the upcoming recall elections are an “inconvenience” and a “distraction” to most Wisconsinites.

“People are ready to move on,” Walker said in an interview after an appearance in Washington, D.C. “And I don’t just mean one party or another. I think just in general. The average citizen in Wisconsin I talk to, it’s like they’ve had it … They want us to be talking about jobs. They want us to be focused on that … And so having another political campaign -- it’s going to happen, it’s not like they can avoid it. But it’s not something they’re particularly interested in.”

Walker said that “when I talk to people, if that issue comes up, they’re like, ‘Can’t that just be over? ‘”

The GOP governor said the recalls were nonetheless a political challenge for his party, especially if Republican state senators are heavily outspent by groups on the other side, which he said “can have a real impact."

Walker spoke to reporters after appearing with several other governors at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington for a discussion of state’s policies toward business.

2. That's good. So let those not interested in the recall not vote, then all of us who are interested
will vote. I think that's a great plan.

Honestly, those who favor the recalls should be far, far more motivated to get out and vote than the other side. There should be absolutely no excuse for anybody who supports the recalls not to vote. No excuse.

3. To those who think people are going to forget what Walker has done
I tell them its like this:

Imagine that you were hit by a drunk driver and you suffered a major loss like an amputation, loss of sight, loss of a family member even. Walker thinking you aren't going to show up for the recall votes, including his, is like the drunk driver hoping you aren't going to show up for your day in court to testify against him. You're just going to say, "Its not really so bad, I didn't need my legs anyway. I'll just stay home and watch television instead of going to court." Fat chance, governor.

12. Focusing on jobs? VoterID? Conceal Carry? Rolling back collective bargaining rights?
Which of Walker's agenda items do anything to create jobs? Sack of crap.

17. The foreign immigrant influence
Edited on Fri Jul-01-11 07:51 AM by Yon_Yonson
I am not native born from Wisconsin because I came from afar by way of airplane, boat and car. I have been living in Wisconsin now for 20+ years and I hate what Herr Walker and his NEOCONS are doing to this state. You don’t have to be native born to fight back because this is an international struggle against greedy corporations and their henchmen and women!

18. Geez, if it were that simple...
we could just line up in the street,

like in that movie, "Gangs of New York"

...and work out the issues with axes and flintlocks and pikes and mauls.

And if it came down to lining up "native born" or "not" ----> I, too, would be
in the "not" category.
