A Very Special Evening with Arlo Guthrie
http://www.defendwisconsin.org/2011/07/08/a-very-special-evening-with-arlo-guthrie/

We Are Wisconsin is hosting a special evening with Arlo Guthrie, on the 99th birthday of his father, Woody Guthrie. The concert will take place on Thursday, July 14 at 7:30 pm at the Barrymore Theatre at 2090 Atwood, Madison, WI. Tickets are $35.00 in advance and $75 for VIP. VIP tickets include preferred seating and a special reception with Arlo after the show.

As a folksinger and lifelong activist, Arlo Guthrie carries on the legacy of his father, Woody Guthrie, a fellow labor activist. Woody Guthrie’s most famous song, “This Land Is Your Land,” sometimes referred to as the “people’s national anthem,” has been sung often at the Capitol protests and rallies.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit We are Wisconsin — a network of religious leaders, community groups, labor union members, students and others who oppose Gov. Walker’s extreme attacks on Wisconsin. Proceeds will help fuel recall efforts to reclaim the state of Wisconsin for the people instead of corporate special interests.

Tickets are on sale at Sugar Shack, Frugal Muse (Northgate & Junction Rd.), Star Liquor, MadCity Music, B-Side, Strictly Disc and the Barrymore – call and charge at 608-241-8633 or order online http://www.barrymorelive.com/tickets/1107141.html

2. Arlo Guthrie one of my all time favorites
Wish I could be there and

Alice's Restaurant

By Arlo Guthrie

This song is called Alice's Restaurant, and it's about Alice, and the
restaurant, but Alice's Restaurant is not the name of the restaurant,
that's just the name of the song, and that's why I called the song Alice's Restaurant.

A classic Vietnam Protest Song and does anybody recall The Motorcycle (Significance Of The Pickle)Song

I don’t want a pickle
I just want to ride on my motor-cicle
And I don’t want a tickle
I’d rather ride on my motor-cicle
And I don’t want to die
I just want to ride on my motor-cy-cle
