Where is the media coverage of the We are Wisconsin fire?
Edited on Mon Aug-01-11 08:15 AM by tinwi
This was a huge fire that devastated the recall headquarters and spread to other buildings. It is under investigation. I suspect arson but nothing has been determined yet However, I think the people have a right to know, outside of the Lacrosse area. The entire state will be effected by the outcome of the recalls.

2. The fire started in a warehouse and hit several apartments.
The people's homes lost are the biggest story here, not a small campaign office. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

My heart goes out to those who have lost homes and businesses due to this fire.

3. Agreed.
When the investigation determines it's arson, then it becomes a statewide story.

6. People lost pets, apartments and all their possessions
:(

Firefighters fought the biggest fire in 30 years in brutal heat and some were injured. That's the story right now. We Are Wisconsin has a new office set up and I wish them well. I hope it's not arson and that things haven't gotten violent.

4. BTW, I'm not sure what they mean by a warehouse.
Edited on Mon Aug-01-11 11:25 AM by sybylla
My understanding was that this was a block of old buildings - one of them used for storage. I wish they'd do a little clarification.

I tried to catch it on the news to see what they were saying, but kept missing it.

on edit: I guess "warehouse" suggests something large, steel covered and in the middle of an industrial park. Odd that they call any downtown storage area a warehouse.

8. Yes the loss of homes is the worst part
Especially if they were destroyed to intentionally derail a political campaign.

However, I was under the impression that the office loss would seriously effect the recall effort there. I am glad that no one got hurt, AND We are Wisconsin is back on it's feet.

If there are people out there committing arson it would be a step up on the violence since the petition signers had documents yanked away from them. That would mean that teabaggers are now going so far as to risk lives in the efforts to otherwise financially destroy lives.

Even if it was not arson, I am guessing if a Republican campaign office was destroyed in a fire it WOULD hit the statewide media
