Ald. Keith Fair was charged Monday with trying to strangle a pregnant woman

who worked as a bartender for him in a dispute over a debit card.

Fair, 59, was charged with felony strangulation and suffocation as well as misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $2,000, and Fair was ordered to return to court for a preliminary hearing Oct. 13.

Police were called to a Racine hospital Saturday after the woman, whose name was not released, sought treatment for her injuries. The woman is two months pregnant.

An officer noticed bruises, cuts and abrasions on the woman's neck, arms, face and chest. She told the officer that Fair slapped and punched her and grabbed her around the neck and squeezed.

There are laws for rich influential folks, then there are the laws for the common folk and they seemingly have nothing in common. I know I have said this before but I will say it again “the biggest hindrance to justice in amerika is its legal system’!
