Ed Schultz radio show - breaking news about Walker???
Ed said on his radio show that he will have some interesting developments about WI and Walker on MSNBC tonight, does anyone know what this might be about in more detail?

1. Tomorrow United Wisconsin will hold a press conference to announce the date we recall Walker
I got an email from them.

Maybe it's about that?

4. REALLY dumb timing, United Wisconsin and WisDems!
In addition to holidays and shitty weather, this will put us right in line with Republican primaries.

5. The recall effort was going to start in November with or without the support of the Democratic Party
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin could either lead on this issue of utmost importance or be dragged along. I am glad they could read the writing on the wall, and are not looking like clueless idiots when the inevitable occurs.

10. Agreed. Starting the petition process in November is STUPID!

11. Agreed. But stopping it from starting in November is impossible.
And the minute some STUPID fool files recall papers, Walker can start raising unlimited contributions - whether or not the signatures ever get collected.

If the Dems don't hop on in November, the result will only be to draw out the timeline of unlimited fundraising until the "real" recall gets started.

There are so many more factors to consider than just shitty weather and the holidays. Unfortunately, the STUPID public employees who are hurting and so effing eager to start this recall are clueless as to the big picture.

13. pssst, I'm one of those public employees
Most of my colleagues recognize the poor timing. I am not sure WHO is behind the decision to file, but it's not wise.

14. Besides you, every public employee I know personally is gung ho
and can't wait and can't see any merit to any of the gazillion reasons I've tossed out to wait.

Also interesting to note that, being primarily teachers, none of them were involved in politics before Walker fucked them over. So they don't get the big picture when it comes to elections.

Admittedly that's a small (depending on how you define small) sample. But I expect it's about the same size as yours.

6. What are they doing about weeding out Walker people from "collecting and
destroying petitions?" I hope something. You know damn well they will be up to no good.

7. I worry about them signing fake names
That could dilute the number of valid signatures unless our side collects a massive amount beyond the minimum (as they did in Ohio).

8. They are going to hit it from all fronts to stop the recall. Please I hope they make
sure of that as well as "lost/stolen/fake" petitions.

12. I'm sure it will be the same thing they did during the senate recalls
Having been through this before, I have confidence they understand where the issues are with the process.

It will help to be extra vigilant in our neighborhoods as well, knowing who is going around collecting signatures, etc.
