Not all that relevant to current events but we can take a moment to revel in a little schadenfreude.

Those early Packer games result in thousands of drunks on the highway Sunday afternoons...

Nice attempt at a smile in his mug shot- are Republicans coached on making sure to take a "good" mug shot?

Statements detail arrest of ex-Wisconsin senator Randy Hopper; read the FdL Sheriff's Office OWI report

A former state senator from Fond du Lac allegedly lied to police about drunken driving and then claimed he did nothing illegal while he sat in the back seat of a squad car Sunday on the way to jail.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office released on Tuesday the police report and arrest video of Randy B. Hopper, 45, of N6429 Danny Lane.

Hopper is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 7 on counts of a first-offense drunken driving and operating left of the center line. The potential fines for both citations total $1,030.60.

Hopper did not return phone calls from The Reporter seeking comment.

11. “Don’t ever run for office, by the way,” Hopper said.
Some great quotes in the article.

While Venne asked Hopper questions, the man who lost to Democrat Jessica King in a recall election said, “Will you put down there that you didn’t think that I (was) driving; you never saw me driving; you don’t know I was driving. I didn’t do anything illegal.”

12. Great article...
thanks for sharing it.

Karma's a bitch, I guess. I LOVE how he asked for the sheriff's number. The police report is quite entertaining also...

13. Former State Employee...
Edited on Tue Oct-18-11 11:47 PM by mojowork_n
OK, curiosity got the best of me.

They're apparently both looking for jobs.

From back in August:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A state worker with ties to Senator Randy Hopper who received a 35 percent salary boost when hired in February is leaving her position.

Department of Safety and Professional Services executive assistant John Murray told WKOW27 News communications specialist Valerie Cass will leave her job when the position's limited term appointment lapses later this month. Murray was unable to provide an exact date. State limited term employment is restricted to six months of full time employment.

At the time of her hire, Cass, 26, was given an hourly rate equivalent to annual pay of $42,328. Her predecessor's hourly pay was equivalent to annual pay of $31,200. Officials defended the pay increase, stating Cass' job duties had been expanded.
