Concealed Camera Day: When Tuesday, Nov 1, 2011
Where: Wisconsin State Capitol Assembly Gallery
Description: Concealed Camera Day in the Wisconsin Assembly Gallery
"Concealed Camera Day" is a response to recent arrests of peaceful activists who were quietly recording state Assembly proceedings from the visitor’s gallery. Others were arrested for pinning printed excerpts of the Wisconsin constitution on their shirts and sitting quietly in the gallery observing the proceedings on the Assembly floor. Fill the gallery with law-abiding citizens carrying concealed CAMERAS on the day that the concealed weapons law takes effect. Show support for those who have been arrested for quietly filming from the gallery as is their right under the FIRST amendment (There are ten amendments in the Bill of Rights, Speaker Fitzgerald.) Bring a camera or camera-enabled device like a smartphone with you and visit the Wisconsin Assembly gallery any time on November 1st. Some people have been arrested for filming in the gallery, so that is a choice you can make for yourself, but anyone can go in with a camera.
