4. Cloudy in Boston area - predicting AT LEAST a foot

and could be a lot more. Forecast includes the words we don't like to see - "blizzard conditions"

Here it comes. Thank goodness my landlord has a snowblower.

6. This morning, the forecast said 16-24 inches here ...

(NYC and the surrounding areas). We don't do well in that much snow. Oh hell ... we don't do well in a few inches of snow, LOL! If one more person says the word "noreaster" to me, I'm going to have to hit them.

12. Yeah, funny how the New England term "nor'easter"

...complete with the missing "th," has become so standard. We probably hear it up here even more than you do.

Online forecast currently says "a foot or more" tonight plus "2-4 inches" more after that, which may add up to being not that different from what you get after it's all over. We'll see. Too many variables at this point. At least the weather forecasters are happy -- they really love this!

Boston area snow removal is pretty efficient -- I'm surprised to hear it's not as good where you are. It's not like snow is unusual there.

For us, this will be a pain but just part of winter. I don't really mind that much, regarding it as part of the price one pays for the miraculous months-long springs, mild green summers, and vivid, crisp falls. The problem is in getting around after the storm, and for the most part the snow removal crews will get that under control pretty quickly. Helpful that this is happening on a Sunday instead of midweek.

I'm looking forward to a cozy night and day while the blizzard howls outside, then a walk in the snow after I finish shoveling. Even that'snot too onerous since my landlord has a snowblower.

I really don't mind the New England winters.

10. no- no plowing here (madison) yet and my car is stuck!

I called the city and they said they wouldn't have all the small streets plowed until 7pm tonight! Then I told them we were on a dead end and they said those were ALWAYS LAST!! Good thing I don't really need to go anywhere- I did want to run errands though.

maybe I'll make a snowperson later on...

15. Because snow is fun!

Snowball fights, going ridiculously fast down a tobaggon run, forts, snow angels, and run and jump. If you are really into it you have skis and snowshoes.

It's really beautiful and covers up the drab brown of winter.

The beach is fun too though.

13. Just finished shoveling

We had a plow take care of the big stuff but had to do "trimmin" shoveling anyway....looks like somewhere between 8" and a foot of snow...light feathery stuff really. The wind was just starting to kick up when we came in around 11:25 or so....expect to shovel some drifts....

14. Now this is what I call a snowstorm!

We had a prediction of 7-11 inches. When we went walking today, it was up to my knees (and I'm tall). Right now it is snowing so hard I can hardly see the buildings across the street.

Snowplow buried my car. We are headed out for some shoveling and a snowball fight.

It is so pretty out there!

I don't ski or snowmobile or anything else. I just like winter to be winter, if you know what I mean. Those dry winters are a major disappointment.

He always loves bouncing through and rolling in the snow. I didn't have fun shoveling it.

24. My dog didn't mind it yesterday...

but today she tried getting to a spot and it went belly deep for her and then she walked out of it and just laid down. Which was not normal for her.

I put down my shovel and went to pick her up and take her back into the house.

She is a 5# Toy Poodle.

21. I never thought Id say it!

but I really miss the cold snowy Wisconsin winters of yesteryear -- pre global warming. The disrupted weather patterns really do weird me out. So I enjoy this. It's as it should be. All is right with the world... at least for now...
