Feingold made a great convention moment.

One of the great responses at the Democratic Party of Wisconsin Convention happened while Russ Feingold was speaking. He mentioned that Evan Bayh was speaking later and the then recalled how Bill Clinton had spoken to our convention in 1987. Then, he said, "Who knows, maybe somebody speaking to this convention today will become President of the United States. " Obviously the crowd knew he was talking about himself...they jumped to their feet and gave a good two or three minute standing ovation which left Russ laughing to himself at the podium....that was a great moment...one that made the convention fun....

In the reception line I asked him, "Did I hear what I thought I heard?" He turned his head a bit and looked at me. "Are you thinking about it?" I clarified. He shrugged and replied, "I'm thinking about it." I said, "We've been thinking about it A LOT for you." He laughed and gave me a big, warm handshake.

5. I thought it was the highlight of the convention

besides meeting all you great DUers, of course.

I've never been so proud to stand for an ovation as I was to stand in support of Russ Feingold for President Friday night.
