Got this E-mail today
While this may not come as a surprise to most of you, it has recently been proven that the Republican-proposed "voter-ID" bill could disenfranchise thousands more than originally expected.

We already knew this bill was merely Step 1 in the Republican plan to systematically eliminate Democratic votes. Now we have an even clearer sense of just how big the stakes really are. The report, done by the non-partisan Employment and Training Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, identifies large portions of minority and elderly Wisconsin residents as potential victims of disenfranchisement solely because they lack a driver's license or a state-issued ID card. The report is the first to specifically identify those most impacted by a potential voter-ID requirement. It should come as no surprise that the study found the minority and elderly communities as the most susceptible to such a stringent voting restriction.

Support Governor Doyle's election reform package!

Governor Doyle's election reform package, crafted in direct response to the proven problems that occurred in last year's presidential election, is being introduced as legislation today by Assembly and Senate Democrats.

This is a crucial piece of voting rights legislation and takes a big step towards shorter lines, better training for poll workers, less confusing hours at polling locations, more double-checking of results and a requirement that limits the time someone is waiting to vote to 30 minutes. This package makes it easier to vote and harder to cheat.

Call your legislator today and ask them to support the Governor's election reform bill! To find your representative's contact information, click here. http://activist.acthere.com/page/m/bj51xjdf5y7/DitPys

Sincerely,
Tamara Pogue

1. It should make you feel better that
Doyle has vetoed this twice before and plans to do so again.

We just need to make sure in 2006 that we sweep in more Democrats to not only uphold the vetoes but also to start putting real legislation on the floor and not just put out divisive crap that is meant to politically corner Doyle at every turn.

2. Rubber Veto Stamp?
When I was in College, one of my favorite professors had a rubber stamp made up that he used when grading essay exams. It said simply BULLSHIT! He used it frequently.

Maybe we should chip in and get Gov Doyle a BIG rubber stamp that says
VETO!
