But this week's revelation that President Bush's chief political advise,r Karl Rove, is at the heart of the leak case changes matters because it cements the link between the White House and the criminal investigation into Plame's exposure.

It also makes clear that Rove either must resign or be fired.

Rove lied. He leaked sensitive national security information for political gain. He then lied about it and, in the process, made the president and his spokesman into liars.

The entire affair started when Plame's husband, Joseph Wilson, disputed the Bush administration's claim that Saddam Hussein had tried to buy uranium from Niger and alleged that the president manipulated intelligence to support an invasion of Iraq.

The White House's credibility is at stake.
Rove must go.

Never would have expected it from this paper. I figured they'd ignore the whole story, but barring that I thought they might excuse Rove and the misadministration's unwillingness to do anything about it.
