I see Mike Honda, one of the DNC vice chairs was there trying to work with him. He sounds pretty cantankerous to me, and he wants nothing to do with the national party.

Is he not aware of what the DNC is trying to do? Or is he truly clueless. Mike Honda is a decent guy. Howard Dean does not even believe in gun control....so what's up? Note how decent Honda remains during the session.

Democratic Gov. Dave Freudenthal pressed the state party to distance itself from national newsmakers at a meeting of Wyoming Democrats where he and a Democratic National Committee vice chairman painted contrasting views of the national organization.

Freudenthal told a group of about 75 state Democrats gathered at the Clarion Hotel on Saturday night to focus on local issues that relate to Wyoming residents and to ignore national questions about a party that frequently differs from the local level.

"This is a party that's not afraid of firearms," Freudenthal said. "It's a party where people are interested in whether the governor managed to shoot an antelope with one shot."

"I don't care about Howard Dean," he summed up.

DNC Vice Chairman Rep. Mike Honda, D-Calif., who came to Gillette for the meeting, acknowledged that the national organizations had slipped.

"We lost touch at the federal level," Honda said. "Our job is to correct this with you."END SNIP

So does he really want the national party to go away and not help them at all? Does he not know that the party is providing political directors, hired by the state and from the state?

I sure am confused.

1. Schwitzer and Sebelius are not afraid of the national party.

David is an idiot. Dean is anti-gun control and for government out of our personal lives. Mike Honda understands the need to branch out as a party.

Freudenthal is the problem because he chooses to be so. He is isolating himself and rural Democrats from the national party.

2. He just wants to get reelected

which is hard to do on the Dem ticket here, as you can probably imagine. If Dave does get a second term, I hope he continues pushing diversification of the economy, and education.

do you think your state should get the promised money? I think that is why Mike was there. I don't think they should if they refuse contact with national.
