Cheney's WY house seat still seems like a possible dem pickup
In the 2004 General Election, the CNN exit poll claims that Cubin won 76% of Republicans, 42% of Independents, and 18% of Democrats. The partisan split there was 53% Republican, 25% Democrat, 22% Independent. She ran 19% behind Bush amongst Republicans, 12% behind him amongst Independents and 9% behind him amongst Democrats.

Barbara Cubin has another serious opponent this year and his name is Gary Trauner. Gary has $205,914 on hand and has spent $241,693 so far.

With Cubin's weak showing in 2004, a vastly popular Democratic Governor on the ballot in 2006, and the whole thing about Republicans being in bad shape in general, Cubin is a lot more vulnerable than we know right now. Given the right momentum, Dick Cheney's Representative in 2007 could be a Democrat.

1. Barbara Cubin and Craig Thomas sold their souls to Joe Camel!
Everyone in Wyoming needs to know about this symbol of Republican
hypocrisy on moral values, especially the Mormons in the far western
part of the state. Because tobacco use is against the Mormon religion,
Mormons should perfectly well know how unholy the alliance between
Republicans and Big Tobacco is.

I've submitted Letters to the Editor to the following newspapers:
Casper Star-Tribune
Wyoming Tribune-Eagle
Cody Enterprise
Guernsey Gazette
Planet Jackson Hole
Lusk Herald
Powell Tribune
Sheridan Press
Torrington Telegram
Green River Star
Kemmerrer Gazette

The letter:
Senator Craig Thomas and Representative Barbara Cubin would like to
thank your children for smoking, chewing, and dipping tobacco.

According to the Tobacco-Free Kids Action Fund, both have accepted
substantial campaign contributions from the tobacco industry. Since
1999, Craig Thomas has received $17,500, and Barbara Cubin has received
$32,000.

If selling their souls to Joe Camel is a moral value of Thomas and
Cubin, then I'd hate to see what their immoral values are.
