CASPER, Wyo. — A group of about 50 people gathered in downtown Casper on Saturday to show support for New York City's Occupy Wall Street protest movement.
"Stand up to corporate greed and corporate excess, that's my message," said Will Welch, a University of Wyoming student who drove to Casper from Laramie for the noon rally.
Welch, standing in Pioneer Park, clutched a homemade sign that read, "Tax the Banks." He held it up each time a vehicle passed on Center Street.
"Most of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of a small number of people, and the wealthy, they don't pay as high a tax rate as the middle class," he said. "So my message is, the rich need to be taxed." ...
