2. My dad was born in Wyoming
His grandfather owned most the sheep in the US at one time and parked them in Wyoming. He also had 6,000 head of cattle. He built his fortune through droving in the late 1800s, taking his pay in livestock. He had gambled it away by the time he died in 1948.

If you look on a reasonably sized map, you can see the triangle of land his family owned. The points of the property were Lyman, Little America and Carter. I have been told that great grandpa founded Little America, and that great grandma shot up the saloon from the 2nd floor suite they had hotel in Carter, to break up the card game great grandpa was playing. He was a shitty card player, she wanted to shut the game down, and they owned the town and prit near everythin in it.

He told her that she broke up the game while he was winning. She called bullshit, because he "never won a game of poker in (his) goddammed life." They were Mormons, but not practicing ones.

4. Wow, that's cool.
I grew up in Lyman...know the area very well. My dad died out at Church Buttes, just south of Granger/Little America. Currently working about a hundred miles north of there up on the Pinedale Mesa Anticline.

3. Best way to make a forum pick up traffic...

...is to spend a few spare moments each day googling for relevant news (or older amusing articles, like the "Kansas scientifically proven to be flatter than a pancake" one a while back) and posting articles throughout the day. Then there is content when people drop in, so they are more likely to drop back in later.

(See Environmental Issues -- hatrack does a good job of that there.)

Though I do get the impression many DUers don't even know there are other groups.
